Praised be Jesus Christ! Welcome to our Carmel, named after St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the Patroness of the Missions and the “Greatest Saint of modern times”. You are about to enter into the silence and solitude of the desert of Carmel.
Although we are cloistered nuns and do not have any active apostolate, since our one apostolate is prayer, that does not mean this vocation is dull and devoid of life. No, Carmel is a desert that is brimming with life and beauty. Its very name, karem-el, means “Garden of God”.
Our ministry is our prayer. We are not called to moments of prayer, or even to times of prayer, but to a whole life of prayer. Prayer is our principal contribution to the Church and our witness to the world.
Our hidden life proclaims that GOD IS! He exists and is longing and waiting for all of His creatures to come back to Him. This is our prayer for all who visit our site.
May many young women also be drawn to join us in tending this little Garden of God and winning souls for Him.
